Overview

Minetest is a free, open-source voxel game engine and sandbox game similar to Minecraft. It ships with a default game (Minetest Game) and supports hundreds of community mods that add new biomes, creatures, tools, and game rules.

Cross-platform and very light on system requirements, Minetest runs well even on older hardware. The Lua modding API is well-documented and beginner-friendly.
