Overview

htop is an enhanced, color-coded replacement for the classic Unix top command. It shows CPU, memory, and swap usage per core, lists all processes, and lets you search, sort, and kill processes interactively.

Press F5 for a tree view of parent/child relationships. htop is available in every Linux distro's package manager and is the first utility most sysadmins install on a new server.
